Annotations

FTK Central uses a different viewer and format to store redactions. Coordinate-based redactions can be converted to work with FTK Central, but test-based redactions cannot.

IMPORTANT: Forensic Tool 7.5.2.173 requires a different version of PDFConvertor.exe for the AnnotationMigration tool to work.

  1. After installing FTK Central and upgrading the database, stop the AccessData Exterro Self Host Service
  2. Navigate to the Forensic Tools BIN folder (typically "[drive]:\Program Files\AccessData\Forensic Tools\[version]\bin")
  3. Rename the existing PDFConvertor.exe to PDFConvertor.exe.old
  4. Download the new PDFConvertor.exe from https://tenant1.hostedftp.com/JUamf5f6jbDuJUPKXgUfXkXTt and place it in the Forensic Tools BIN folder
  5. Start the AccessData Exterro Self Host Service
