When trying to connect a drive to be imaged using a Tableau device, FTK Imager insists on reading the serial number of internal drives instead of the target drive attached to the Tableau.
This has been seen happening on systems that had been upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Reinstalling drivers did not fix it. Only reinstalling Windows 10 from scratch addressed this.
Something happens in an upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 (and it may happen in other version upgrades) that breaks the way FTK Imager reads from certain write blockers. The only known fix is to reinstall windows from scratch.
